Who is Polar Algae?
Norway has a long history of harvesting and utilizing seaweed for farming, food, and health. The indigenous Sami-people living in Northern Norway even used seaweed in their reindeer feed to combat disease. We feel honored to have a place in this continuing story.
Polar Algae is the world’s northern-most producer of certified organic Ascophyllum seaweed for use in commercial fertilizer, biostimulant, and feed products. The clean waters and extreme conditions of the Arctic Ocean yield the purest and most robust Ascophyllum on the planet.

Polar Algae is partnered with the Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA) to develop new and sustainable methodologies, regulations, and best practices for Ascophyllum management in Norway. Our commitments include designing and building proprietary low impact electric harvesting boats and reduced energy drying practices for sustainable production
